In all good stories, there is a protaganist and an antagonist, or a good guy and a bad guy. I bet you can name a million examples. I think that a story must have these to be called, in essence, a story. Everyone knows that bad guys most often have pointy teeth or horns or bombs they wait to drop. Obviously, since they're supposed to be scary, right? Well, not always. What if I could show you a land where the bad guy is the very grass you will walk on, the very water you will drink? What if I can show you a land where everything you have ever known about core concepts will be turned upside down, inside out? What if I can show you a land that feeds from its inhabitants? Yes, I speak the truth. Most never believe me, but I know. There is a land where the tree you lean on will suck the life from you. Literally. Afraid? So am I. But then again, I've always been afraid. Ever since I saw everyone I'd ever known drop dead in front of my eyes, I've seen no reason to not be. My name is Melee. I am Smoulder.
