Just returned from a five day fishing tour of oswego county heres my report from what i ubserved. Fishing was good in the oswego river upstream. I saw capt. kevin davis on one day hit 6 or 7 in about a 4 hour period up by the dam. A couple of them were probably in the high teens. i was 1 for 4, a small male was all i was able to land, he was around 5lbs. he was spawned out. then hit a couple nice browns in the harbor drifting worms on the bottom. the creeks laong 104 to pulaski were high and muddy but fishable. landed plenty of suckers but no steel. Sandys were very high and very muddy. didn't even bother there. Then tried fishing the sad salmon river that is running around a 1000 in altmar and probably 12 or 1300 downstream. it sucked big time. was 1 for 2 for fishing 5 days. landed 1 small spawned out hen around 7#s on eggs, lost 1 other on a fly under a float. I always bug the guides as they go by and most only had 1 or 2 hook ups all day. Yikes. should have stayed on the oswego. also stopped at the usual stores, whitakers and tony's both said fishing has been slow and to stay with the small creeks. almost forgot, i did get two browns throwing cleos into the mouth of grindstone. one other guy there also had missed a couple. All in all it was slow for this time of the year.
