The Drama Desk Award nominations were just announced and DW is up for Best Featured Actor in 'Major Barbara'. There are 5 other nominees, the most formidable of which is Frank Langella, but DW richly deserves to win. The awards will be presented May 19.

Yahoo! I don't think they vote for actors in closed productions, generally, but the only reason why it's not still running is because of 9/11 (far as I can tell).
Thanks!

Wow, I've actually seen both DW and Frank Langella on Broadway, and it's not like I've been to many plays in my life. Frank Langella was great many years ago when I saw him in Dracula ... but DW certainly deserves an award for his performance in Major Barbara! He really *made* that play. (Interestingly, DW performed the audiobook The Club Dumas, and Frank Langella played one of the main characters in the movie version, The Ninth Gate. Listening to the audiobook before the movie came out, I remember thinking DW would have been awesome in that role! Maybe it wouldn't have flopped if he'd gotten to do it!)
