In reply to: Suky 's message, "Re: DW as the new Doctor Who" on 13:47:03 02/26/04 Thu

A continuing Google search shows DW is a popular choice among Dr. Who fans! Also, according to this site--http://www.garbledonline.net/sayanything.html--"The current favourite is Bill Nighy, a competent enough performer and said to be first choice. Yet he's not really all that likeable and I doubt whether fans would warm to him, even if kids might find his aloofness amusing. My personal choice would be David Warner, a superlative actor and someone else who has skirted around the fringes of the programme, making a wonderful 'alternative' Doctor in Big Finish's Sympathy for the Devil." (Personally, I'd have to agree about Bill Nighy. Among the other top contenders, Richard E. Grant would be my *distant* second choice.)

I understand that David is on the shortlist of 3 for the role, along with Christopher Eccleston and another (unnamed). No Bill Nighy on that list.

I think he has every chance of getting it, and if you have heard "Sympathy for the Devil" then you will know he's pretty fine in the role!

Announcement expected on, around or by 26th March 2004...
