Subject: Another idea

Took me a few days to get here but this is way cool! I wish you much success.

After watching all but a few minutes of yesterday's Burton hearings, it occured to me that funds could be sent directly to the strongest Dem candidate running against particularly offensive GOP incumbents. For starters, the top of my list would include Bob Barr, Tom DeLay, Dan Burton and Trent Lott. At the end of the day, Burton & Co. came away with not ONE scintilla of evidence of quid pro quo. For those who didn't see it, Waxman's opening comments were a blockbuster. He named particularly offensive pardons of previous presidents along with some members of congress who have accepted BIG donations from companies whose interests they represent--namely Big Oil, Tobacco, Gun Lobby. In other words, influence peddling.

Bob Barr made an ass of himself yesterday and blew the GOP hope that the hearings would NOT be viewed as just another Clinton vindetta.

Another idea that might work is that of forwarding articles we come across that aren't being covered by the mainstream media and asking why, if they're pretending to be legitimate, they're not on top of the story. Can have the effect of water dripping on stone. Worth a try. News organizations tend to get bent out of shape by scoops by competitors.
