formal PACs require more money than I think we can expect in donations. I realize that large lump sums of money result in more impact than small donations.

However, we can attempt to create an informal PAC, encouraging donations to go directly to a candidate or a party.

TO this end I would propose focusing on one issue at a time - top of my list would be the tax cut proposal. See my "tax cut" posting, and run the link to see how much of a tax cut you can expect.

The 'mail campaign' would take this type of format

1. based on the tax calculator from the link in the tax cut posting - determine what YOUR weekly tax savings would be. For me it'll amount to $5.75 per week.

2. We could generate a 'generic' letter to the Democratic National Committee, which outlines how much of a tax savings we would expect per week, and enclose a check for that amount - each week.

My general theory is that a multitude of letters with small donations targeting an issue would have the same impact as 1 letter with 1 large donation. or to put it another way - 1 lone killer bee is nothing to pay attention too, but a swarm is another matter. So we need to act like a swarm, be consistent and over a longer period of time.

We can discuss and formulate other ideas to target other issues if this message board gets ACTIVE!
