It was barely noon and it was already proving to be a long-ass day. Sebastiaan was just about fed up with it all and honestly he just needed a break, needed to get out. How did life get so damn complicated anyway? Bas sure didn't know, what he did know though was that he just wished it all go the fuck away. He was just about fed up with his life and sometimes he had thought of just leaving it all behind. Today was one of those days, oh god was today one of those days.
The day for him actually started hours ago, when his wife had dragged him out of bed at some ungodly hour in the morning. Bas wasn't sure what time it was all he knew was that the sun was not yet up and that meant it was a fucking unacceptable time to be woken up. Putting it lightly Bas was NOT a morning person, pulling him out of bed before the sun was like asking to have your head bitten off. His wife knew this too, the two have known each other for half their lives after all, so what had she thinking? Bas wished he knew, because honestly he had no clue what was going on in her head. When he asked her she had said something about today being a holy day of obligation or something like that, which translated that she expected him to go to church with her. To which all he had to say was 'you are fucking kidding me'.
Eventually Bas had caved to his wife's demands, though he did so grumpily. He wasn't happy to be there and he wasn't about to pretend he was. She knew damn well how religious he wasn't he thought all of it was a load of bullshit. While he might have been raised by religious family he never took any of the religious training to heart. For the most part he been avoiding religious gatherings, but today he had been roped into it, despite his protests. This along with the early rise would have been enough to put him in a rather sour mood, but their way home somehow what idle conversation with his wife had evolved to a full out fight.
Truthfully Bas was sick and tired of fighting. It seemed that no matter what topic started the argument it would slowly dissolve into the same damn argument that they had over and over again. To be honest he wasn't even sure what they were fighting over anymore. He wasn't even sure if you can call it a fight, half the time Bas would just give up and let her rant at him. She was…understandably angry, she felt that Bas had changed; he wasn't the man she married. Bas on the other hand felt she was being unfair with this, while he did recognize he changed, it was long before the marriage, it wasn't his fault she was clueless. Which is kind of unfair of him, he did love his wife.
This just wasn't how his life was supposed to turn out, this wasn't at all what he had in mind. Not that he knew WHAT he wanted but this wasn't it. he didn't want to be married, he wasn't ready. Marriage was a huge step and he would have preferred to let himself take whatever time he needed to figure it out. But he had so much pressure on him, between his family, his wife's family, friends and his wife herself he had eventually caved and asked her to marry him. Once he did that there was no real backing out he was in to deep. He had let others decide for him what should have been one of the most important events of his life and he was now regretting it.
Sighing heavily, bas finished off his cigarette before pushing off the building he was leaning on. He had left his house about twenty minutes ago leaving his wife home alone. Life was stressful for them at the moment and it was showing in their treatment for one another. At the moment Bas was between jobs this meant less money coming in and less money going out, this translated to bills being neglected and so the bills were slowly piling up. He was trying to find a part time job but the economy made this difficult. His wife though was adamant they ask for help, he didn't want too. He hated his family, he wasn't a fan of most of hers either, and he be damned if he be in their debt anymore then he had to be. So he told her no, which again dissolved into an argument. He just couldn't be at home anymore because he wasn't sure how much more he could handle without snapping at someone.
Stepping out the cigarette Bas moved up the steps to the apartment building behind one of the apartment's residences, catching the glass door before it closed behind them. Slipping into the hallway of the apartment, he eyed the hallway, and the doors many of which were decorated for the holiday, god gag him with a spoon. Moving quickly towards the stairwell he jogged up a few flight up steps before moving down the hall to the apartment he was looking for.
Raising his hand Bas knocked on the door, the knock was firm but not all that loud. Resting his weight on the doorframe, he gave the inhabitant time to answer. Maybe he was a bit impatient but after a few moments of silence, he frowned, once again lifting his hand to knock ,this time the knock was much louder, it verging on pounding, in fact Bas was probably loud enough for the neighbors to hear, not that he cared.
"Open up Marcus!... Your sister is fucking insane!"
The words were slurred and spoken with the thick Dutch accent, which made Bas hard to understand. Okay, so Bas had been drinking already, something that would be obvious to the other male. Not only did the slurred words give it away but his accent always thickened when he was tipsy or emotional. His drinking wouldn't really be all that surprising though, not to Marcus at least, the boy was one of the few people that actually knew what Bas was slowly turning into it and the only person that was able to pull Bas out of his the shell he had thrown up around himself. While Bas wasn't always the nicest person to anyone anymore, Marcus included, there was something about the younger boy that seemed to pacify Bas, and honestly Marcus was probably the only person that could still reach the old 'Bas'. It was strange but it was what kept drawing Bas back to the boy, despite the fact he knew that this relationship had potential of being disastrous. Bastiaan had even gone so far as to promise himself a few times that he would be done with the male, just to find himself back at his apartment a few days later. Yeah, Bastiaan was kind of pathetic, but he honestly didn't want to give this up, so oh well.
