Date Posted: Thursday, October 16, 08:50:28pm Our luncheon this month at O'Charleys was great! We had a few more ex-Deluxers join us so we had a nice group. The restaurant was a good choice, thanks Pat for the suggestion. Everyone enjoyed good friendship, conversation, and food. It was Janice's birthday and once the waiter learned of this, he presented her with a green balloon which matched the beautiful lime green blouse that she was wearing. This brought many nice comments from other patrons of O'Charleys who joined in to wish Janice a Happy Birthday. Most everyone at the luncheon ordered the "Loaded Potato Soup" which WAS delicious. I recommend that everyone try this when they vist O'Charleys. This restaurant also had the best hot buttered rolls that you'd ever want to put in your mouth. Pat had ordered a slice of Key Lime Pie for dessert. Being the nice person that she is, she gave everyone a sample which left her with only a bite for herself! The Key Lime Pie was also out of this world. After we finished eating, the waitresses and waiters circled our table to bring Janice a "birthday cake" and sang to her. The cake was equally as good as the Key Lime Pie and Hot Rolls! For next month, (third Wednesday in November) Barbara suggested that we go to the Smokey Pig in Ashland. So... MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND JOIN US! Since The Smokey Pig is just about be in the backyards of Barbara, Stuart, and Margaret, we do hope they can come. After lunch at the Smokey Pig, maybe Stuart can help us find the famed Suzannes for dessert. OKAY FOLKS, THIS CHOICE IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD FROM SOUTHSIDE, SO THOSE FOLKS LIVING NORTH OF THE RIVER SHOULD FIND IT MORE CONVENIENT TO ATTEND! Last December, I had the group at my house for a Christmas Brunch and everyone brought a covered dish to share. If everyone can overlook the "remodeling going on of the outside of house" (it's taking longer than expected and probably won't get finished prior to the holidays), I'm willing to do it again this year, please let me know what you think and which day/evening would be good. Of course, if you'd like to travel to the river for a gathering at the house, this is also possible, but I think to do so we should plan on the first Saturday of December. (I do decorate the house there also.) Leave a message on Richie's site, or give me a call at 748-9444 if anyone is interested.
