 Christianity apparently long ago has changed its teachings so that theocracies are only within confines of monasteries, convents, and other closed societies, NOT democracies that I know of.
..... Islam still today has several attempts to follow the edicts of their clergy. Compare with the former Taliban of Afghanistan, and various other countries, such as Iran, that require adherence to the 7th century (Sharia?) laws of Islam, as interpreted by various groups of clergy and others. None of these, as far as I know, are democracies.
