Going on past experience it's likely to be a very popular concert, particularly with people like yourself who wouldn't normally go to a Prom - people have been turned away from Wynton Marsalis concerts before now. Also, being the second Prom in the day, there will be people who went to the first one who will stay for the second, and they'll get to go in first. (The RAH stewards issue numbered tickets so that people keep in the same relative order.) Finally, as it's televised, some of the space in the Arena will be taken up by TV cameras. So, yes, get there as early as possible. Ideally, get there in time for the first concert, and get your numbered ticket. (Make sure to tell the steward that you're in the Arena Day queue - people have been given the wrong tickets before now.) You don't need to buy a ticket for the first Prom to get your numbered ticket that keeps your place in the queue.
