In one of his rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://www.promenaders.freeserve.co.uk/1998/Prom9841.html">reviews on this site,
Gary Evans says the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra are affectionately known as the 'MacBeeb'. However, I have never actually heard anybody use this name – apart from Gary Evans, elsewhere on the site.

Still, it's better than what Charles Hazelwood called them ion BBC4 after Johann Strauss’s Elektra, namely "The BBC Symphony Orchestra".
