I'm all for it at the Proms. But would NK and co have the strength to program it (in such a majestic setting with all those forces Gary wishes for) at a mainstream Prom? Perhaps not, sadly. It will be great though if it is done by all those groups mentioned in one massive setting - with the choir filled to the roof! Couple it with the Berlioz Requiem with 10 timpanists and 4 brass bands? And the 10 harps (from Damnation of Faust) just for good measure? Just how far could this fantasy 4'33" be taken?!
