News on the Glyndebourne Prom. It will not be the Magic Flute, as I'd hoped - I suppose it misses out by being too early in the season, like Tristan last year. The Prom will be the double bill of Rakhmaninov's 'The Miserly Knight' and Puccini's 'Gianni Schicchi', and will take place on 26th August. This is official info - I emailed Glyndebourne to ask.

I'm pleased about Jansons and the Bavarian Radio SO, if it's true - that would be a repeat of yesterday's concert (2/2/04) at the Festival Hall, which I was disappointed to be unable to attend.

I believe we're also getting Rheingold, by somebody highly unconventional (one of the baroque orchestras!) It was mentioned in Opera magazine some months ago but my collection is in disorder and I can't locate the magazine in question.
