I listened to the prom last wednesday and thought it was very very good. Pierre Boulez conducting the BBCSO in Schoenberg, Bartok and his own composition and Bartok's Bluebeards Castle. Did anybody else like it? I thought the Bartok the best I've seen or heard. Laszlo Polgar was superbly dark and menacing and Miss de Young expressive and tragic. Boulez conducting taut and thrilling. The BBCSO on great form for a 'southern band' (see earlier messages).
