Great score Zin! I'm sure you can get the the max next time through.

It does seem to matter when you build the academy. Some people say that there needs to be no more than 11 troops in the fort when the academy is built for the company to become academy trained. Some people have said this is as low as 5. I have no evidence either way so usually build the academy as early as possible. In this game it was built before any additional troops were recruited.

In Pharaoh/Cleopatra the timing of events that depend on other events cannot be exactly defined. The designer can specify, for example, that event B (say grant of jewelry) occurs 5 months after event A (delivery of wood), but the game will then schedule event B plus or minus 2 months from the specified time. There is no way for the designed to ensure it occurs at a specific time. The timing is calculated when event A occurs. Timing of events can be critical (as in the jevelry delivery on this map) so the technique we use is:

Make a save just before complying with the request for wood (save A). Send the wood and immediately make another save (save B). Run the game through at 100% until the jewelry is granted. If it doesn't came when you want it, go back to save A and repeat. When you get the timing you want, go back to save B and play the game normally.

Regards,
Elf
