One day the woman told my mom about this place. She also told her that she had left, because she was an outcast. She showed my mother her talons and wings for she was half falcon. Said a spirit falcon did it to her. Any who someone found out about what Ruby really was. They told every body and they killed her. When Ruby was dead the sprirt falcon, Ice Falcon, was released. She had lived here too, but had been lonely so she gave the spirit to Ruby. She told mom all about this place and Mac and most of all Thracin. Ice Falcon got with a Red Shoulder hawk much like that black one and through her powers had Dire Ice. A person who had hated what Ruby was wanted to kill Ice and Dire, but momma wouldn't let em. Ice Falcon gave her and Dire's protection to mother and me. When my father tried to harm mother Ice Falcon threw herself in the way. She was killed. Momma used her powers to bond Dire Ice to a ring. This one here." She shows the ring on her finger. "We made an escape, but a gaurd shot mother. Dire has passed our nights away telling stories all her life to me. I have never met Mac, but I feel like I have." She draws back thinking she has said too much.
