Subject: Interactive radio (333-9333, Now that's easy to remember!)

Did anyone ever take advantage of calling the special "333" numbers the stations had set up for requests, contests, or other things? I can remember in Junior High listening to one of the AM rock station in the evening when they'd play new songs and have callers phone in an vote on which ones should be added to the Top 40. When I got older, I realized those contests were fixed, and what we voted for didn't matter. I also learned that requests didn't influence what did or didn't get played. But when I was 13 or 14, those interactions were fun.
