I used to work overnights as a radio transmitter op. Watched WIIC-TV-The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder most nights. Channel 11 would sign off at 2 or 2:05AM every week night. Also, in 1973, KDKA-FM would sign off at 1 AM. I was told that this was because TV ran and logged the FM transmitter (no remote control to the studio), and they signed the FM off because TV was also leaving the air.
