I went to a Catholic school where the nuns did not believe in watching TV in the classroom. But I did see these shows at home on the occasional sick days. (mainly because it was the pre-cable era and as a young boy I had no interest in the soaps running on all the other stations).

I believe the guy who hosted the science show was Professor Julius Sumner Miller. He was quite entertaining.

We lived high enough on a hill to pick-up WKBN-TV 27 from Youngstown, which pre-empted the CBS soaps in favor of movies. My other sick day viewing choice.
