hi. i took lexapro for 6 mos and gained 30#. i'd never had a weight problem before then either. went from 148 (post pregnancy weight; usual wt was 136) to 179! i tried stopping the lexapro after the first 10#,but didn't taper quickly enough and my migraines came back full force. figured i could live with 10#,but gained 20 more in the next 4 mos. i was on the 10 mg and tapered like this over a month...7.5mg x 7 days,5mg x 7 days,2.5 mg x 7 days...then off. around 2.5 mg,my mood got awful,but i improved once i was off the med. i managed to lose 19# that summer,but as soon as i started eating like a regular person,i gained almost all of it back. my metabolism is shot and i'm seeing my dr. to do some bloodwork this week.
note: i was only on the med x 6 mos and you've been on it 2 years. may want to taper more slowly. probably should ask your doc.
