I actually stopped taking Lexapro (10mg) cold turkey, just about six weeks ago.
I couldnt stand the weight gain - 42# in less than a year!
Think I did really well for quite a while on Lexapro (other than the weight issue).
Lately couldn't stand not caring about anything anymore, feeling like I was just "there". Couldn't stand the leg jerking thing anymore, sleeping only for short periods at night, never waking feeling rested, argh!
You should probably talk with your doctor about "weaning" you off the meds.
The headaches were killer for the first couple of weeks. Definitely a withdrawal thing.
The leg jerking subsided somewhat. Dr mentions that this may actually be permanent neurological damage from Lexapro. Too bad nobody mentioned that (or the killer weight gain) before I started taking it!
Stress-wise, I think I am handling things ok, but can definitely feel it building at times.
Considering switching meds, but prefer not to deal with the weight gain, etc.. so for now, I'm trying to take things in stride and working on that.
Now trying to get rid of this enormous weight gain, it hasnt changed much yet.
If anyone finds out the secret, do let me know!
Good luck to you, :) shar
