Okay - not sure how I stumbled across this msg. board - oh yeah - I got fat when I started prozac.... well - from what I have read - I'm the first to give a guy's point of view.
in Sept. of 2001 I quit my substance abuse - started Prozac - in Dec. of 2001 I quit smoking, switched to zyban/wellbutrin for a few months, then back to prozac. I had a 6 month period of increased inactivity and not-the-best diet - well, let'sjust say that institutional food is very high in carbs - anyways - by August of 2002, I had gone from 230#-ish to over 274#! - now, at 6'5", I was able to carry it off a little better - but I basically went from a size 36-38 waist to pushing past 42 waist. in September I quit the prozac - in November I joined a gym and started using Metabolife diet supplements as well - I've been back down below 235# for a while and approaching my 220# goal. It's been only recently since my sister has 'blossomed' since her start of this prescription that I started thinking the 2 were connected - I'll admit openly that the gym and diet and exercise have really helped - maybe not so much in my weight loss, per se - but in how I generally physically feel about myself - I do feel better now after 6 months of working out regularly than I did using the prozac - but that's just my situation. Thought I'd share a little Y-chromosome perspective.
I'll be happy to share any additional comments or insight into my progress - however, email direct - I might not be revisiting the msg. board all that often (work rules, etc)
