I have been taking Lexapro for almost a year. My doctor put me on it, because my mother was dying from cancer, and I was her caregiver. Very stressful and sad. She passed away on May 5, 2003, but I kept taking the Lexapro. Big mistake. I have gained 18 lbs, and that's a lot if you are only 5' 3". The trouble is - I am eating less, and exercising more. Doesn't help. I just keep gaining no matter what. I have started to wean myself off, and will finally stop taking it altogether. I think it slows a person's metabolism too much.
