Hey. Concerning weight gain and prozac. I gained over 30 pounds on prozac and effexor. I was on effexor first for almost a year and switched to the prozac because I was putting on so much weight. Well, on the prozac, I continued to gain weight. I got up to 152 pounds and I am only five feet two! I was still gaining all the weight while on a running program and watching my food intake. When I discussed my concern with my regular physician it was brushed off like I was eating too much! I knew that was not so. I soon became so discouraged that I got off the prozac. I still could not loose the weight. I started to take St.Johns Wort and in 5 months have lost the weight I gained on the medicine. The St. John's does not do much to make me feel better mentally, but it sure has curved my appetite and played a key role in my weight loss. Even though the prozac did help me with my mental issues, I am too fightened to ever go back on it. Hope this helps.
