Subject: SE Owls, MBSP

The Short-eared Owls put on a pretty good show this morning. Whie Shrike searching at about 10:20 (no success) at least 2, and I'm 99% sure 3 Short-eared Owls took to the air. Two of them spent a good deal of time over the lake, sometimes circling in the middle of a gull flock! One of the birds flew overhead very low. Great looks! A Northern Harrier was also present, as well as a Greater Black-backed Gull, Bufflehead, and Red-breasted Mergansers.

The feeders held only Goldfinches, and the Nature Center volunteer said the Redpoll hasn't been seen this week.

THe Pine Siskins were quite present. At one point there were so many birds underneath the thistle feeder that you could not see the ground, just siskin!

The Oregon Public launch held 2 Lesser Scaup and a Canvasback.
