Subject: Point Mouillee, MI rarities

Normally, I include Pt. Mouillee birds on the phone hotline report, but since there were so many good birds found on the NCO, I did not have the time.

Point Mouillee in Monroe County Michigan is currently hosting some outstanding birds.

BLACK-NECKED STILT
COMMON EIDER
HARLEQUIN DUCK
SURF SCOTER
RED-NECKED PHALAROPE

I'm sure there are other goodies to be found. If you are unfamiliar with the area, it is big--real big. Bring a bike or a good pair of walking shoes. The stilts have been moving around, the phalaropes in the Lead Unit, and the ducks have been along The "Banana", which is the outer dike--a 2 mile walk from the parking area(s).
