Subject: Magee Marsh

Some of the best late season migration in many years continues at the Magee Marsh bird trail.

Today I had 20 warbler species including Connecticut (2), Mourning (3), and a pair of Prothonotary Warblers. The male Prothonotary was singing and gathering nesting material, at the bridge to the big loop.
A very late Worm-eating Warbler was seen by Bruce and Darlene. I missed that one by minutes.

Yellow-billed Cuckoos were singing along the entire trail. Seemed to be at least 7-8 of them.

Cedar Waxwings continue to be abundant.

Rick
