Subject: Blue-headed vireo

I saw a blue-headed vireo yesterday (4/12/02)at Wintergarden Park in Bowling Green. I was surprised, but not that surprised. Until I checked The Birds of the Toledo Area this morning and discovered it was a very early bird (earliest sighting in the book is April 20th). I know Eric, and maybe some others, won't believe me, but honest, I really did see a blue-headed vireo yesterday.

We visited the Magee Marsh birdtrail late last evening. Besides many hermit thruhes, brown creepers, both kinglets, towhees, and yellow-rumped warblers we spotted a black and white warbler.

Around the corner in a flooded field (sorry, can't remember what road) were a group of yellow-legs (both) and 3 dunlin.
