In reply to: Boston Lion 's message, "Columbia Basketball Wins" on 15:35:09 01/31/26 Sat

Now that back-to-back basketball weekends are less frequent, we all need to consciously recall the innate hazards of commenting on Friday results, given the ever-present Ivy predilection for Saturday changes in the way the wind blows….

Keith Stanton. A fine power forward for the Big Green in the mid-1990s.

I was at Jadwin when Dartmouth and Princeton were in a back-and-forth game. Princeton was up by two in the closing seconds when Dartmouth had the ball. We shot with about three seconds to go and missed. Stanton inexplicably got the rebound with nobody on him. He went up for the putback... and muffed it.

Poor guy was just inconsolable after the game.... :(

Maddie St. Rose, who left the Columbia game with an injury midway through the 3rd quarter, was in civilian clothes tonite. She is our best player and her absence was felt tonite in the Cornell win, which was closer than the score suggests.
