Penn at Brown- No comment. I'm too nervous to pick anything. It has potential to be a blowout if the Penn offense can't match the Brown offense, but if the Penn defense is spectacular, if could be a VERY close game as their offense faces an improving Brown defense that you simply cannot run against. I canceled a trip to NYC to see family from California whom I have not seen in 5 years for this- they now have to drive all the way up here because I refuse to leave the area this weekend! ; )
Yale at Columbia- Yale, 17-10
Seems like the safer pick at this point. Yale's offense is futile, but that defense can be lethal, and Columbia's problem has been turnovers this year. I like them odds.
Cornell at Princeton- Cornell, 24-14
The Cornell defense was actually competitive for less than 3 full quarters with Brown last week. The Princeton offense held its own for about a half. But then both teams collapsed. Cornell's collapse was more emphatic and took a shorter amount of time, but that's because they held on longer than Princeton. And frankly, from what I could hear in both games, Cornell sounded like a much better team. If they play the same pressure defense that they did against Brown, Princeton doesn't stand much of a chance and could get blown out and/or shutout.
Dartmouth at Harvard- Harvard, 31-17
Dartmouth is obviously improving, but it's Harvard. Not one person will be surprised if they run the table. Beating Columbia was a good step and nice morale boost, but, again, this is Harvard.
