The Brown offense had the wrong game plan. What is hard to understand is why they didn't change it when it obviously wasn't working. Brown rushed the ball well but only on occassion did they try to run. They were constantly 3rd and long because the first two plays went for no yard passes or incompletions. The final statistic of 1-13 3rd down conversions says it all. Newhall had a bad game. On a least two occassions he overthrew Brown receivers who were free in the endzone. But he might not have had a bad game if they ran it more. Brown was way too predicatable and Penn was well prepared for it. Not totally dissimilar to the first 3 quarters of last week. In the OT Brown looked beat. A disappointing loss for Brown and a great win for a very good Penn team. Now it is on to Yale, also a great defensive team, with nothing to play for. At this point a very good Brown team is at the crossroads. They can either play to their potential and win out or crumble under the disappointment of another tough loss. But in either case, congratulations to Penn for an outstanding effort and to Bagnoli,who today outcoached Estes.
