Author: Ivy Inquisitor (Columbia Championship) [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 16:18:36 11/23/24 Sat First of all, I want to congratulate Dartmouth for joining Harvard for winning back 2 Back Championships. But this is Columbia’s day!! Given the decades of dreary lows and near misses the past few years, The Lions championship could not have happened to a more deserving team. I’ve asked before “Is Columbia Homecoming tradition honoring the 1961 Championships team still occurring?” I’ve wondered that because the reaming players from that team are very elderly, mostly in their middle 80’s. I will be glad to see the touch of that decades long tradition passed to the 2024 team. Columbia winning the Championship is good for Ivy League Football because it will create more visibility this great league deserves. Someone wrote we last won the Ivy title when the Berlin Wall went up - sometimes it seems like it was since Hadrians Wall was erected; but we have that monkey off our back so to speak and I expect with Coach Poppe we will have continued pigskin success. I would be remiss if I did not mention Dartmouth and Harvard but that is all I will say about them - LOL but seriously congrats to them too although alphabetically we come first ... Roar Lions Roar!
