In reply to: Bengal 's message, "Sara Fillier" on 20:22:33 06/10/24 Mon

The other person I could find from an Ivy school who was the 1st overall pick in a pro draft was Chuck Bednarik from Penn in the 1949 NFL draft.

Other near the top picks from Princeton include Michael Sowers, selected 2nd in the 2021 PLL draft and Bella Alarie, selected 5th in the 2020 WNBA draft. (Bill Bradley was a territorial pick in the 1965 NBA draft, otherwise he would likely have been one of the first few picks).

Jim McMillian from Columbia was the 13th pick in the 1970 NBA draft. Calvin Hill was the 24th pick in the 1969 NFL draft.

Others?

Outstanding research. Thank you. What was your process here? Scan all the drafts over the years, or zero in on specific years where you could remember an Ivy superstar? Wasn't Rob Pannell drafted way up there too?

Columbia QB Marty Domres was the #9 pick in the first round of the 1969 NFL draft. Princeton basketball has produced first round draft picks Geoff Petrie, John Hummer and Armond Hill.
