In Coach Griffith’s 250th game as Columbia’s head coach and the WBB team’s last game before the Ivy schedule begins, Columbia won at FGCU, 63-44, using a 25-4 Q3 to extend its nation’s longest road win streak 25-4 Q3.

Add Riley Weiss passing the 1000 point mark and overall much more cohesive team play and you’ve got to say that this group is ready for the Ivy schedule !

Not-so-ready for Cornell today playing at home. Red 67-60 final. Weiss shoots 1 for 14.

Quite a stunner by the 5-8 Red, lowest Ivy in the NET ratings by a sizeable margin. They hadn’t beaten anyone with a winning record all year.

Hotspur, if you had the Cornell upset of Columbia on your bingo card then I applaud you. Congrats to Cornell who played a near-perfect game! Putting it in perspective , its only the first game of a long conference schedule.

The surprising Cornell debacle shows that the Columbia Women have some work to do. Coach G needs to find a couple of consistent scorers to support Riley Weiss. Some of the bench players have to step up quickly or the Lions will be in trouble against their Ivy League foes.
