After a great start in 2004 and 2005, many of us thought Jim Knowles was the man to turn this program around. He was enthusiastic and very hard working. A great resume with a MAC Championship ring as a defensive coordinator and on his way to Nebraska, before Cornell managed to sign him. By 2005 both the offense and defense were clicking with a 6-4 record and an Ivy League championship was just around the corner. Many alums were actually worried Knowles would win a quick Ivy title and then be off to bigger and better job.
Since 2007, the team has been in a steady decline on both sides of the ball. What happened?
