Disappointing end to the year for our Green, but—maybe for the first time in my life! 😀 —I’m cheering hard for Harvard and Yale! Let’s go!

Here's hoping for good showings, to help erase some of the Ivy disrespect that has been the default for years.

The "implied" seeding for H and Y, based on the seeding of their opponents, is lower than their Sagarin ratings.

Harvard - implied seed is #21 out of 24. Yet, Sagarin ranks them #12 in FCS.

Yale - implied seed is #18. Sagarin ranks them #15.

Think that’s a product of the ten games schedule and the general weak SOS, but I agree a good showing by Harvard and Yale in the playoffs can remedy that bias in the future.

Gentlemen; there is always a perception about the quality of play which, unfortunately, in the ancient eight has not risen to any level of distinction due to the first year entry into the playoffs.. Unfortunately, our blue deserved much better and should have preferred playing the likes of Villanova and then Lehigh in the second round. It's up to our blue to step forward to show they are the team that beat handily the cantabs, who were ranked number seven at the time. As for the Cantabs they should easily survive into the third round lucky for the howling man of Cambridge

My postings all season started with concerns about my beloved Crimson, followed by exuberance. I noted that Harvard did not play up to its developing reputation against Columbia and then Penn. it was not a surprise that when Yale received the early breaks that the Eli’s prevailed. Clearly, Yale closed the season much stronger than Harvard did.

Unfortunately (fortunately?), I was driving to Florida and couldn’t watch The Game (or post).

Hopefully the Crimson defense can rebound against a strong Villanova offense. If so, I would hope to attend the second round contest at Lehigh. Yale traveling to Youngstown State will be interesting as well. Both opening round games are at noon on Saturday. Sweeping these games would send a definitive opening message about the league’s participation in the postseason.
