So much for home field advantage. 19 saves for Carroll finishes off the Red, who have no complaint having lost twice to Quakers.

Speaking of which, Tigers’ two consecutive wins over Eli (now overall have beaten them five straight) pretty much puts Yale on life support for NCAAs.

Penn now has to figure out how not to be embarrassed for the second time in two weeks by Tigers, who won going away in Princeton by five DESPITE 17 saves from Carroll.

Tigers played well yesterday but if there's anything results of the last few days have shown, it's that no team can take anything for granted in all these tournaments.

I was impressed by Penn's defense, how quickly and smoothly they reacted to ball movement by a very strong Cornell offense. The goalie matchup Sunday could be outstanding. Both teams have seqson on the nline

Tough loss for Cornell but I was not surprised by the result. The Penn defense was very physical all evening and their goalie was simply outstanding. Like they say, offense scores the points and defense wins the game. Interesting in that Penn was not afraid of serving time in the penalty box as they had some hits that leveled a few guys. Not sure if we qualify for the NCAA's with this loss. Go Big Red!

It's been a fun tournament for both teams so far, hope at least one can come away with the championship.

Yale with a big comeback from 5-9 to win it 10-9 in OT. This should certainly help their NCAA seeding, and assure Penn a spot too.

Yale seeded #6, Penn #8, Princeton also in, but would get #2 BC in second round.

Tigers obliterate Quakers for the second time despite 20 saves by Carroll — that’s 38 shots on goal. Six Tigers with multiple goals, Penn D not effective against anybody.

From this odd weekend, will be interesting to see who gets an NCAA bid — clearly in the late weeks Princeton is the most dangerous team in the league, but beyond that, ???

Disgraceful seeding, will be more fully discussed in next few days. As Carcaterra said on ESPN, next year will be a huge Ivy crusade to savage the rest of the country….

Tigers vs. #7 UMD in second round.

It was great having the Cornell vs. Penn game at Schoellkopf last Friday evening despite the loss. However, I do think the ILT should be played at a neutral site like either Bethpage Stadium or Hofstra. Bethpage seemed like the perfect size and location for college lacrosse. Please not at Columbia as they don't even play lacrosse at that school. Long Island is pretty much in the middle of the Ivy League in terms of distance and with their passionate lacrosse fan base, I think that is the best venue for the ILT. Just my two cents.

I’ve never been to an event at Hofstra that wasn’t well-run and enjoyable. Tune in to the quarterfinals on the 18th and take a look.
