In 2016, he led the National League in ERA and helped the Cubbies win their first World Series Championship in over 100 years. Kyle got the most of his skills to become an accomplished pitcher for 12 MLB seasons. Kyle reminded me of another Big Green star pitcher, Mike Remlinger, who was a similar control pitcher for 14 seasons in the MLB. Mike loved following Kyle's career, especially since they both spent time pitching for the Cubbies.

While Greg Maddux did earn a Cy Young award during his time with the Cubs, Kyle Hendrix did accomplish something that even the great Hall of Famer Maddux could not accomplish with the Cubs. Kyle was a leader on the team the broke the "Curse of the Billy Goat" that was reputed to be the reason that the Cubs could not win a World Series until 2016. Hendrix always will be a beloved legend in Chicago for his role in breaking the dreaded Curse of the Billy Goat.

Glavine and Locklear would have none of it, both quickly issuing statements that the line was in the script and not improvised by any of the actors.
