I thought it was over going into the 3rd. Nice comeback by the Big Red.

Always great to see the Ivies hold their own with the hockey-fixated ECAC schools. These leagues are an interesting model for sports where not all eight Ivies are active.

Of course, then there’s January in Potsdam, NY….

Congrats to Cornell hockey!

January in Canton and Potsdam, NY was a blast. When I was a student, Cornell hockey fans and Greeks made the trip to the North Country for the SLU and Clarkson games and it was so much fun. We all stayed in a flee bag motel and drank beers at the local bars as we took over the place. Despite being hung over St. Lawrence welcomed us to work out at their fitness facilities. It's a beautiful campus. The game atmosphere was great as both venues were SRO. I highly recommend the trip for Cornell students and alums.

Had to chuckle at RW’s evocative and spot on road trip description, right up there with Otis Day and the Knights in Animal House. This indeed is what college weekends should entail.

The implication of distant lands is also a chuckle (even ignoring the obligatory two feet of snow) considering home base in Ithaca. Imagine if your starting point were Providence or Princeton…..

Congrats to Red. The 2-1 loss to Denver was a great match.

Meawhile, all of metro Boston is nutso over the possibility of a BC/BU final next week, sort of a Continental Beanpot. Just in time for Patriots’ Day.
