Penn 24 Princeton 7
Something tells me the Tigers won't get too much going against the Quakers D

Cornell 20 Dartmouth 10
McManus, Jenny, and Schwieger all out for the year...Big Green can't catch a break

Brown 27 Yale 10
Bears rebound against the Buldogs. Big day for Sewall & Co.

Harvard 28 Columbia 10
Does Harvard warrant the "Dynasty" label?

Tigars have no claws, Quakers get 14 from their offense and 7 from the defense

Cornell 17 Dartmouth 7
Mediocrity Bowl

Brown 17 Yale 9
Brown gets just enough past the stingy Yale D. Eli offensive woes continue. Low scoring for a rare occasion in this series.

Harvard 35 Columbia 10
Crimson can see the end in sight. Columbia is ready to pack it in.

Penn 14 Princeton 7 - for some reason I think Princeton has a shot

Dartmouth 14 Cornell 10 - going in opposite directions

Brown 17 Yale 14 - would not surprise me if Yale won

Harvard 28 Columbia 24 - would not surprise me if Columbia won

i agree with reality check with the exception our blue 17-14.quakers and contabs squad are both very workman like and not dominating which i think will give every team they play a shot.

Harvard over Columbia 35-20 Harvard has too many weapons and Columbia just hasn't arrived yet. As I have said before, having the right players is half the battle; the other half is confidence.

Princeton over Penn 10-7 I am quite sure I am alone in making this pick. Penn doesn't have enough offense to put teams away thus they are susceptible to any team that can score. I am not sure Princeton can score, but if they do they just might make it stick. I am betting that they will.

Dartmouth over Cornell 21-17. I think Dartmouth is playing for improvement. I am not sure what Cornell is playing for, sadly I don't think they know either. Thus, I am going with the team that appears to have some direction.

Brown over Yale 28-21. With this pick I am taking the position that Estes can motivate Brown to move past last week. This will not be easy but this is where pride comes in. In addition, Brown has lost 3 in a row to Yale, that should be motivation enough.

Penn 21, Princeton 3
If Brown can't score an offensive touchdown against Penn, Princeton sure as hell can't.

Dartmouth 24, Cornell 17
I don't like anything about Cornell right now. Dartmouth, on the other hand, has plenty of likable upsides.

Brown 24, Yale 10
Brown's offense i =s vastly superior to Yale's. Brown defense is not quite as good as Yale's but steadily improving and has not allowed more than 17 for three games (17 against P, 14 C, and 14 P, but only 7 in regulation). I like my Bears in one that could get ugly unless the Yale D plays as well as Penn did (and Brown's O makes as many mistakes), or the Yale O comes alive and picks apart our still somewhat shaky secondary (<--- epic alliteration).

Harvard 31, Columbia 20
When will Columbia finally be good? I hope it's next year, just for the fans' sakes (and for a Senior Day matchup at Brown Stadium that will actually be interesting). As for Harvard, as much as I loathe and detest everything remotely Harvardian, you can't not respect a program that has consistently beaten everyone for the last 10 years or so. Kudos, Crimson. The absolute worst of luck to you in the future in all sports.

Yeah, I know we have dropped five in a row and all is not well on the East Hill, BUT we knocked off the Yale Bulldogs the last two seasons. Best of luck against Brown.

Dawg,

Are you saying that Yale is so good that the Bulldogs will win the Columbia-Harvard game?

Or is this the ultimate manifestation of the Yale tendency/instinct to be a Harvard/Princeton wannabe?

Sorry to say, but Brown's top receivers will exploit a depleted Yale secondary. Look for quick-strike scores by the Bears putting Yale in a hole from which they cannot dig out. Last week's turnover breaks will not be there to help miracle comebacks...

I dunno, pal, about our teams. Those close-ups of Eli M. on TV show a befuddled, angry young man, who misses his buddy, the leg shooter. As to the the Blue of New Haven, I hold to my previous prediction. Brown, in a battle, leads early: Yale plays catch up, but not fast or far enough. We'll see!!...

Harvard by 14 over an improved Columbia.

Cornell-Dartmouth a toss-up, with an edge to Cornell by 3.

Brown rebounds over Yale by 11, but if Witt is catching fire, then a close game.

Penn easily over Princeton, by at least 21. Don't know why some posters think Princeton has a shot. It has given up over 30 points to Citadel, Columbia, Brown, and Harvard; did not score a TD against Columbia (or anything else) or Harvard, and its offense has generally sputtered and wheezed. And I think Penn's excellent defense is the best in the League. Penn is at home, driving, and peaking, it seems to me, at the best time. I wish Princeton had better prospects than I think they do, but, while I won't call them a favorite in the last two games either, the last two games are a better chance for a W than at Franklin Field.

Cheers.

Would anyone be giving Cornell a chance if Schwieger were playing?

If the answer is "no," then I expect Dartmouth to really be in a position to do some damage to other temas in 2010 and 2011.

I am no expert on Dartmouth's personnel and their backups, but I do think his absence matters and it factored into my view of the game. If he was available, however, that does not suggest to me that Cornell would not have a decent chance of winning. Doesn't matter what I think, in any event. I am more comfortable in my views of the Princeton game and hope I am wrong there.

Great defense, but how do you propose to score?
[Edit]

Probably true about the Yale defense, but what about offense? How do you expect to outscore the most prolific offense in the league, with the best O-line, while deploying the worst offense in the league with the worst O-line? Do not underestimate Brown D-line, either; David Howard and Jimmy Develin form one of the most formidable pass-rushes in the league. And the secondary is coming along nicely (4 picks last week, one returned for a TD), so good luck scoring points on that front.

Bottom line: Yale simply does not have to offense to contend in this game. The defense will keep them in it until the end, but the offense (or lack thereof) will really be their downfall. On paper, Brown should win this by about 10. But, as we saw in last year's (and last week's) game, crazy things can happen any day, as long as you shut down the Brown offense.

There are some RBs for D that could step up and balance out a passing game, but I will call this game a toss up.

This Penn game has the feel of a let down look ahead. They finally won an overtime game last week, beating Brown for the first time in a while on top of it. Follow that up with Harvard next week and as others have said, a Penn offense unable to put people away and this is going to be a battle. Either way...Princeton still sucks.
