Now that was a great game to watch. Congratulations Brown on an outstanding win.

Terrific effort by Brown. Most impressive were the two drives in the second half where Brown moved the ball on the ground, one a 17-play touchdown drive and the other almost as good.

The game could have gone either way, and URI may well have won but for some stupid penalties and a huge play by Brown DB Archie, forcing a fumble following a goal-line reception, with the ball going out of bounds for a touchback.

Brown almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, with a strange run play on 3d and short from the URI 7. We had been moving the ball well on the ground with our running backs, but we tried a WR run, which failed miserably and was followed by a missed field goal.

As for ESPN, it really needs to improve its game. The commercials are 50% louder than the broadcast, forcing constant adjustments given the constant commercials. I finally just muted the commercials. Further, the network nearly missed several plays because of its display, following a replay, of an Ivy logo with a whoosh sound. Provision of replays was also spotty. I suppose that doubling the price over the last several years should have improved the service, but these errors are just amateur hour.

The Ivy Logo and whoosh were annoying beyond belief. Here's hoping after a review of the broadcast they understand that. For the record, they did miss the start of several plays because of it.

When Dartmouth played Central Connecticut State a few weeks ago, the NEC broadcast had that same stupid "whoosh" sound every time they showed the logo.

Another big win for Bruno! Bryant isn’t anywhere near as good as Harvard and URI, but they’ve beaten UMass and played a few good FCS teams tough. Bears were down 12-0 at halftime but rallied with 29 second-half points and put it away on a ridiculous circus touchdown at the end.

I’m not sure when Brown last swept its non-conference opponents, but it certainly wasn’t recently (probably around 2012 or 2013, if I had to guess).

Let’s hope this is a sign of things to come in Ivy League play, and not an aberration. The Harvard manhandling still stings, and with Princeton coming to town after getting pummeled by Mercer, the Bears had better be sharp.
