Last weekend the teams that were expected to win did so. As result, my picks were 5-1 and 1-0 for Ivy CSFL. Bringing the total to 17-9 and 4-3.

Princeton and Columbia both faced difficult competition. Their outcome is understandable.

Penn's Jared Richland was back to his explosive self. His outstanding preference earned himself national player of the week and Phil Steele's Mid Season All- American Team. In my opinion Jared Richardson is The best Quaker receiver since Justin Watson and Liam O'Brien is the best quarterback since Torgorsen. Frustrating part is I feel this championship combo won't be enough for The Ivy Championship. Only if they made the QB switch three years ago.

Cornell's defense showed up against Harvard, although the score board didn't indicate that. The Big Red has the long tendency of playing "up" and "down" to their opponents. They look better than their 0-4 record. As the season goes on, will their unpredictability add to more Frustration or provide hope?

Harvard's game against Cornell forced them to do something they've haven't experienced- playing the starters for 4 quarters. Whenever a team regularly "ends" the game by HT or 3rd quarter, one has to question will the starters be conditioned enough if there're forced to play the entire game? This was good experience for Harvard and it will prepare them for the Penn, Yale and Dartmouth games

Dartmouth defense came to play! OZ ,who is revered as the best Kicker in the confrence has been struggling but he saved his best for last.

Yale ,like Cornell is better than their record indicates. This was a bad loss to a good team.

Brown needed a win over Bryant badly. At this point I believe this game could be a "program defining" game. Initially, I feared they've plateaued (like Cornell)at 5-5,The Bears were able overcome a 0-12 score to win 29-12. Brown is now at 3-1 and is in good shape to achieve their first winning season since 2013. Six weeks ago I was questioning if James Perry is the next "David Archer" Now I've the feeling he might be the 2025 Ivy COY!

Ivy Sprint Football:
Cornell had the week off.
As expected, Penn lost to Army 38-0.

Week 5 picks:
Sprint Football: Navy over Cornell. On the positive side for the winless Big Red the after this game the worst will be behind them.

Harvard over Merrick. One more "warm up" game before full league play.

Dartmouth over Fordham. Will their defense show up again?

Penn over Columbia. Be aware Quker this cold be a trap....game.

Yale over Stonehill

Bucknell over Cornell. Big Red's season is at stake.

Brown over Princeton. The Tigers won't be generous hosts.
