No stars probably means they did not evaluate him. I note the lack of stars as a reminder that star systems, like internet listings of "offers," need to be taken with some skepticism. When they do rate a kid, I think they can be of some value to laypeople like me, but only up to the point of reviewing the kid's film and camp performances. Which I don't do.

I am willing to guess that if you ask McCorkle, or any Ivy head coach, they will tell you they do not rely on them at all and would probably express at least as much skepticism as I have.

Many offers are conditional, some very conditional. And some conditional offers are not even that. I am aware of two instances on this board where recruits described as having a P offer did not have such an offer. In at least one of the cases, the staff did not even submit the kid's name to Admissions because he wasn't remotely within the admissible ballpark, yet was listed somewhere as having been offered. Of course, many offers are true offers, but I think it is difficult to tell which ones they are.

I try to record the stars and offers I find, but with the aforementioned understandings.
