Daxx,
In contending that "Historically, it has always been unerstood that abherrent sexual behavior was not acceptable, though practiced," you are quite mistaken.
At least if by "abherrent sexual behavior" you mean same-gender sexual contact. Such behavior has been common and perfectly acceptable at many times and places throughout history, including, notably, Athenian Greece, that font of democracy and Western civilization. Rather ironic that you quote Socrates!
If by saying "the animal world does not seem to have a problem with it," you meant to imply that homosexual behavior is not found among non-human animals, that is another statement that is badly off-base and easily disproven.
It is obvious (to me at least) that your antipathy toward gays is interfering with your ability to look at the facts rationally. Don't you know studies have also found that the most virulently homophobic individuals are often those who later turn out to be gay themselves? "Know thyself" and "to thine own self be true," indeed! Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
Dare I ask why "American" is spelled with a "k" in the title of your message?
