How is it that anyone could ever deserve eternal punishment in Hell? This idea paints a picture of a God who is vindictive and unforgiving rather than just and perfect. It seems relgions use the idea of hell to frighten people into conversion, or to keep them believing. What is this anyway, an insurance policy? It reminds me of gangsters who ask for "protection money".
