I know she quoted that from someone before her and believed it too. Once, in my teenage insolence I spat at her, "You and your cliches." She countered, "If they were not the time-tested truth, they would not become cliche." She was right, as usual. If there is one thing science and faith have in common it is the time-test. No real clergy proclaim to have the answer to God's plan on the existence of a vision. No real scientist proclaims to have an answer/cure on one idea or successful outcome. Can't we all accept the blessings that come our way and handle the disappointments when they don't? If we would stop arguing over these things, we might finally find the truth.
