Allow me to note a few things: first, the concept of seperation of church and state is embedded in the Constitution. Praise the Lord for seperation of church and state!
Two, there's a tremendous difference between actual Christian teachings and the modern, American Christian *religion.*
Three, there has been a concerted brainwashing campaign going on now for decades that *uses* the sensibilities of fine Christian folks as tools in political campaigns. This campaign is well-financed; well-organized; very sophisticated; and well-expressed among various media outlets. Read: Blinded by the Right, by David Brock and Kevin's aritcle about the Republican party referenced on this forum.
