There are so many nice comments about listening to your heart, etc. etc. I hope you don't mind one more.
It is truly difficult when people have preconceived ideas of who you are or should be. Let people see you, the REAL you.
I cannot say it any better than one of my favorite sayings. Here it goes: "Your time is limited, so don't waste time living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other peoples thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
