Subject: 2001 - 2002 Starters?

This year's version of the Lady Musketeers will obviously be both younger and less experienced than that of last year, especially up front. I know virtually nothing about our incoming new players. Furthermore, the loss of Lowery and Hawkins may take a toll mainly because of their association with the program last year and the influence of the four great players who departed.

It is equally obvious that Piipari and Waugh will rotate between the PG and SG positions and be on the floor for 35-40 minutes each game (barring injuries and foul trouble). I'd also assume that Kate Kreager will play a lot of minutes at both the C and PF positions. Is either Colleen Yukes or Aida Sarajlija ready to take charge of the other post position, or will they share that position based on who's hot or playing more intelligently at the time? That leaves the 3 (QF) position to fill. Is Coach B likely to go with a 3-guard attack or stick to the 2-guard backcourt and 3 big bodies up front? Is there anybody out there who is watching the players work in the gym now? Who's looking good? What surprises might we expect? Are any of the newcomers likely to have an impact this year?

Thanks for any information you on-campus folks can provide.
