Not a game to be taken for granted, and it's great to see the ladies hold on to win their opener on the road.

Amy was solid - a double-double in her first game since returning to the starting role at PG (16 pts, 13 ast). They'll need that leadership going into the Akron game and the tournament at Maine over Thanksgiving weekend.

Kate was able to get a solid point total in a game that counted, although 5 rebounds was a little less than one could hope for. (Then again, when both teams are shooting the hell out of the ball, especially X in the 2nd half, what can you do?)

I couldn't listen to the game (hard to do when the PC crashes), but it appeared that Aida got into early foul trouble. Alexis did a solid job in her first game in a Xavier uniform with 8 points, 2 boards, and no turnovers (although she did pick up 4 fouls). Ashleigh did a decent job as well: 7 points (a 3 and 4-6 from the FT line) and only 2 TOs.

Only 7 people played, but I would imagine more people might get some time if they distance themselves against Akron on Monday night.

Other than that, my only real concern right now is the defense - although they did force 25 turnovers last night, they allowed the Sycamores to shoot over 50 percent from the field AND behind the arc - hopefully that was just the result of the ladies getting the cobwebs out of their system.

But, Monday is another day, and Akron shouldn't pose too much of a threat.
